Tho i do feel bad for them. As most of these guys (whether or not they are religiously dogmatic) are just people who are living their lives. But I personally don't give a rats ass till either, the current pakistani political system ceases to exist or Pakistan as a nation ceases to exist. They have too much power and they don't do any good for any of their neighbours (heck even china).

 think at the time that you posted this, tensions were extremely high and there was a lot of anger. I'm surprised at the amount of vitriol being directed towards you in the comments, but I wanna say, you're absolutely right. 
Over the last few months, I have seen a lot of horrible comments from both sides, but since I am indian, I have a lot of sensible indian friends and was hopeful that there is at least some normalcy on one side. But I haven't found a single non-terrorist apologetic voice from Pakistan which frankly surprised me, as for the past few years, all my interactions with Pakistanis have been super liberal and they have all acknowledged the deep involvement of the army in their politics. Suddenly it seemed like every Pakistani voice, even the liberal ones, were extremely blind and jingoistic. The amount of "alhamdulillah for Pakistan/Jinnah" comments I've seen from Pakistani Muslims directed mockingly towards Indian Muslims has been disgusting. I'm guessing that's been your exact experience with the Indian side too. 


I am so glad to see your opinion. I really hope you and your no doubt sensible friends don't let all the vitriol thrown at you through this post and over the past few months, colour your opinion of Indians. I really hope Pakistanis get the freedom from your current system you truly deserve one day. I also hope India remains secular and democratic and that we can one day see a South Asia where nobody is accusing the other of celebrating the deaths of innocents, while doing the exact same thing.

These 5,6k voter seats are 6 Kashmir seats, 6 seats for Jammu refugees have large number of voters. But it is perhaps time to change how they are used. 

Instead of ending the seats, we can use the method used by India in IOK where seats are present but are not contested and are effectively token representation of other half. 

In any case, these seats are part of the AJK constitution, forcing the change through the methods applied by "Peace committee" will not end well for all.

Interesting. This needs to be revisited. I was misled into believing that they are marching for some subsidies for Electricity, Wheat, and whatnot. 

Kashmiris are our brethren, and if this is the cause they're marching for, I stand by them. Their right of self-determination stands resolute. We don't want Azad Kashmir to turn into IOK. 

Though at the same time, I do somewhat believe that - notwithstanding the demands - violence should be avoided from both sides. We have already lost 10-15 people from both sides, the police &amp; protesters. They won't come back. May Allah grant them Jannah, Ameen.

We've had enough of these people and their absurd demands.

What is it that they provide to Pakistan? Simply what do they contribute to Pakistan? They take quotas in jobs from Pakistan government. They get quota seats in universities from Pakistan. They get subsidized rates for utility bills and they pay no taxes to the federal government. They get subsidized rates for wheat and rice from the government. They want their cities to be developed by Pakistani government while their own government is busy building private properties and businesses.

They want all the benefits and none of the accountability and yet they go ahead and say that they aren't Pakistani. So why the f**k are we damaging our economy for them? I think India had had enough of pampering them like little brats and removed all their special privileges in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Now those people in IOK are scrambling to show how 'indian' they are and how good they'll be for their daddy government just so shit doesn't get worse for them.

They need something similar here too, if they want all the benefits that they're getting from Pakistan then they better work for it.

These are the most rudest people you'll meet all over Pakistan with a superiority complex. They have the typical Brahmin mindset where they consider themselves to be above others and rest of the people are their slaves and work for them.

They're just playing on both sides of the table!
